The Company
MadBid.com was founded by a consultant (L.E.K.), investment banker (Goldman Sachs) and stock exchange experts (Deutsche Börse) in June 2008 and since then the company has taken big strides with its very unique e-commerce auction concept MadBid.com. We have been quoted across the globe, from Sina’s Daily news (a major Chinese online media company) in the East to the likes of BBC, TechCrunch and the Times in the West. We have also been fortunate to see our efforts generate award recognition; 2012 – Red Herring Europe Top 100, 2012 - Sunday Times Tech Track 100. The Opportunity
MadBid.pl (Polish market) is searching for a bright individual – that is YOU (!) – who is looking to grow, learn & accept new responsibilities in a short period of time. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a very innovative online business model that is continuously evolving. You would be, depending on the project, directly working with the founders of the business. Should your goal in the future to be to start-up your own company, this learning opportunity does not really get any better in entrepreneurship!
The role is remunerated with £500 expenses paid per month and can potentially lead into a full time position.

MadBid.com is a gamified e-commerce experience that will take you on a thrilling shopping adventure and leave you with an average discount of 80% on a wide selection of brand new products in our fast-paced auctions. Even if you do not win an auction, you can use the money spent on bidding as a discount towards buying the item that you bid on. Bid or buy direct to get some of the best deals online. We even match our Buy-Now prices with other major retailers on selected items.

We are further developing, incubating and growing our “Gamified E-commerce” formats that we offer. Finally, we are also entering the SoLoMo space with some new and exciting mobile formats.

Investors
MadBid.com raised £4mn (€5mn) Series-A equity financing from Atomico Ventures (ex-Skype founders) in July 2010 and we have since grown the business significantly.

The Candidate
MadBid is looking for high powered, highly effective and self-organised, creative, fun, yet professional people to fulfil an exciting position in our company. You should have a genuine passion for the Internet and should understand how different value propositions online generate revenue. You should be a fast learner. We have the same mantra as Jeff Bezos, the Founder and CEO of Amazon.com: “You can work long, hard and smart, but at Amazon.com you can’t choose two of three”.

Ecommerce Intern (The Polish Market)
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and strong Internet company. Internship will emphasize most facets of global marketing. Your tasks would include anything from procurement, marketing (Online, social media, TV, press and radio), digital content management, and customer services. You will help us grow the Polish market by working with the Marketing Manager and the other country teams in Central London. Candidates must have a strong interest in International Marketing (online and offline) and ecommerce in general. There will be, depending on your experience, interest and company needs other business development projects as well.
This position will also include the conception, planning and execution of email campaigns, analysing web traffic and other competitive market information. Furthermore, lead roles for mini projects can be given to you, if you prove eager to get more responsibility. Depending on your degree of interest and capabilities, you could also contribute to our marketing strategies. For example, one of our previous interns created a full TV ad for MadBid.com! Key requirements:
